And just like that we’re nearing the end of May. Somehow now a repetitive statement for our newsletter, this week was yet another one of those “blink and it’s over” types of work-weeks. Although no one ever complained that their work day flew by, we can’t help but stop, take a deep breath and at least be thankful for the success and growth that has led to this whirlwind.

Lately William Baker, son of founder Coy, has been dropping by to lend a helping hand. This week we had him on the bandsaw for most of the day Wednesday and he handled the responsibility with a cool head and steady hand. Being a family business through-and-through, having William around the Baker HQ has been as rewarding as it is inspirational. This kid can HUSTLE and the future of Baker Forge is certainly brighter than ever with good young folks helping us in various aspects of the company!
Speaking of help, as the anticipation of our stainless damascus line grows, so does the need
to level up our production line. Our electrician stopped by the HQ to begin the plans and establish the line. Soon we will rework areas of the HQ for flow and output. Additionally applicants have been dropping by throughout the last week as we search for more passionate and hardworking individuals to join our tight-knit team. It’s never a bad thing when you have to bring new folks on, but it is a tedious task finding just the right people for this harder-than-usual profession! Stay tuned as we narrow the search AND grow closer to Baker Forge Stainless Damascus….

It’s no secret that we’ve been building inventory for a BIG Blade Show Atlanta coming next month. This week Jay and the shop team took it to a whole new level though. With near historic levels of stock and a WIDE variety of layouts, sizes, and patterns, folks who make it to the show are in for an experience. Just imagine yourself standing before endless stacks of Baker goodness. They’ll be a piece for everyone, so if you plan on making it out to the Cobb find us at booth 1149 in the main room!
We mentioned it lightly in last week’s newsletter but we continued dialing in a new die
system for precise repeatable patterning this week. An art vastly removed from mainstream manufacturing we are solely responsible for establishing and refining forge processes at volume and we take the pursuit extremely seriously. With this new die system we hope to further refine the consistency of our patterning while reducing the required time. After all it’s about even better steel at as slim a cost as possible for our customers! In addition to our die patterning refinement we have implemented a new process for shrinkwrapping finished steel inventory that we believe will drastically prevent oxidation/rust in the humid bits of summer.
Early this week our Monster Energy restock arrived thanks to Hans Molenkamp and the sick folks over at Monster. There’s just nothing like that early-work week boost that the crew receives when their favorite energy drink is both on tap and free of charge. You should have seen guys running around the HQ all week!

Acquired when we purchased the HQ we have been burning off the last of the propane from a massive tank that we will now convert into air storage for the new Chambersberg Power hammer. We’re not new to these types of modifications and were thankful to have the materials on site to add this tank to the lineup. Stay tuned for more updates on the project in the summer months.

Inside the Media
A quieter week as Waylon hustled on video for a top-secret new product and I prepared to take off from my little Montana town and head east for Blade Show. The momentum for this show has been so exciting and we have TONS of media planned for the weekend as well as a wealth of new and exciting t-shirts and stickers to debut.
We appreciate all of the insights provided in this week’s “Monday Question”, ya’ll threw up some really funny responses when we asked “What’s one thing you wish exhibitors at Blade Show would do?” Although we plan to venture away from the BS questions in the coming week to avoid fatigue, these prompts surely build the anticipation and give us something both relevant and interesting to discuss together as a community.

Sneak Peek 👀
As we gear up for Blade Show, we’re dropping a fan-favorite this weekend: BronzeMai, now in three killer patterns—Ladder, plus the debut of Chevron and Ripple. Coy’s thrilled to bring back this classic layout, featuring bronze/Damascus cladding with alternating 1084 and bronze layers over a robust 80CRV2 core, perfect for a bold etch with Gator Piss Heavy (available now at bakerforge.com). Whether you’re drawn to Ladder’s timeless vibe or the fresh flair of Chevron and Ripple, this drop is stacked with sizes, but they move fast on the Baker Forge App Friday. Catch the full release Saturday at 8pm EST, or pick through any leftovers in person at Blade Show. Don’t miss your chance to secure this vibrant steel!
