BLADE PREP, 4 COLOR STEEL DROP, THE "STEEL FINDER" TFN

Hey makers,

Spring finally showed up in the mountains this week — windows open, shop rolling, perfect forging weather. Can't ask for much more than that.

Blade show prep is officially underway. We're pulling stock, running test etches, and grinding example coupons so you can see exactly what you're getting at the booth. If you're coming to the show, you'll be able to hold the steel in your hand — which is always a different experience than a photo.

On the R&D side — we've been experimenting with new die patterns using a 3D printer. We print a small-scale die, then press it into layered damascus clay to see how the pattern behaves before we ever cut metal. Fast, cheap, and very effective. This is how Baker Forge prototypes our new dies. We dropped a reel on Instagram this week if you want to see it in action.

🔍 NEW: STEEL FINDER

Not sure which billet is right for your next build? We built something for that. The Steel Finder lives right at the top of our shop page — answer a few questions about your project and it points you straight to the steel that fits. No guessing, no scrolling through 40 listings.

🔥 SATURDAY DROP PREVIEW — TigerMai Ni Shim Chevron

We've run TigerMai Ni Shim before. We've run chevron patterns before. But we've never put the two together — until now.

TigerMai Ni Shim Chevron hits the site Saturday at 8pm EST. This is a 4-color alloy billet — black etched steel, copper, bronze, and bright white nickel — all locked into a chevron pattern that makes every one of those colors pop in a different direction. It's one of those billets you just have to see etched.

Baker Forge App users get early access Friday at noon. Don't have the app? You're missing out.

That's it for now. See you Saturday night.
