Last weekend’s Core Line release was a smashing success, we’re more excited than ever to continue to stock consistent, economical layouts for our growing audience of makers. Already some favorites have revealed themselves and the demand for these options has never been more clear. We’re proud to keep up this promise, Core steels are still up and available this week and into the future, so if you missed the chance this weekend, grab a bar or simply check out what’s available now at BakerForge.com/coreline
Weather and temps have returned to their relative normal for us this week… perhaps even a bit warmer than normal to start the week as all of the ice and excess snow began to finally melt off. The meltdown really revealed some wildly muddy sections in our Baker HQ parking lot which may call for a little gravel-refresh as things dry up this spring.
Last week’s insight into the Bulgarian hammer issue was simply the beginning of a road to
repair. After removing the ram to finish off a hard work-week we sent off the beast. The first shop has already completed their work cutting and facing the ram and now Coy will pick up and deliver it down to our friends at Hypercut Manufacturing to have the new part designed and milled for our new dovetail. One of those classic headaches those of us in this industry are familiar with, but all the more reason to mention the challenge!

After the last two years of exciting success at Blade Show Atlanta we requested a booth upgrade heading into the 2026 season for the ‘World's Largest Knife Show’. Our only exhibiting show of the year, this collection of our industry friends, long-time customers, and fans all gather in one place and bring an excellent energy to a HUGE weekend for our company. We’re stoked to take it to the next level! Along with the booth upgrade we’re also moving a few isles down. Stay tuned as things finalize for a booth number. Our 2026 goals to further support knifemakers is playing a BIG role in how we plan promotions for the weekend and we have some stellar stuff coming for those of you attending the show!Along those lines– I’m pleased to report that the “mind behind the madness” of most every Baker layout, Coy, is once again working on a new pattern for Stainless Damascus. Potentially available in time for Blade Show, he let me know it’s something he’s very excited to introduce!
A little note on custom orders– Due to the quarter one rush we are asking that all customers place any custom orders immediately. Lead times are growing with the seasonal demand and we want to be sure everyone gets what they need this spring!

Inside the Media
Waylon and Coy pulled off a pretty hilarious “hook” in this week’s drop announcement. Embracing my suggestion for a Valentine’s Day theme Waylon convinced Coy to lay on the couch and give us his best sexy-voice for the intro to this Saturday’s drop. A little goofy— yes, but it’s all about keeping yall entertained (and laughing!)
Right in the thick of editing a shop tour YouTube video, we threw Waylon a curveball to start the week– a new long form explanation of our Core Line. With plenty of details to get out and potential questions to answer, we knew a longer than 1-minute video would be necessary. Thankfully, following a few longer days the video is done and was released alongside our first announcement of the new line. That meant some catching-up was required and had us both cooking to round out the week and fill our content obligations across social media. Regardless we are proud of this week’s media roll out and happy the Core Line long-form came out GREAT!Stay tuned next week for another compelling Monday Question and all the usual entertaining smashing content you’ve come to know and love from Baker Forge!
