Happy Friday, Makers! The first week of May seemed to FLY by, and we know it’ll only be a few Monday Question Reels before we’re loading trucks and heading south to Atlanta for Blade Show! On the heels of a successful debut of our two new Gator Piss Etchants, we have been refining a new fulfillment process for the various etchants. With our new system we can fulfill orders in a much more clean and efficient way ensuring that you both receive your product in a timely manner, and it performs exactly as anticipated, every time. With just that sort of system in place, we plan to have the entire team filling and packing bottles today as we begin sending out Gator Piss from our pre-order two weeks back. Although these acid-packed days are rarely considered a high from our week, this session has a different vibe to it. We know ya’ll are excited to try out this innovation and we couldn’t be more excited to get it into your hands!

Monday’s question reel - “When shipping for damascus do you buy based on composition/layout or pattern?” was an enormous hit. At first we saw the comments streaming in and wondered if everyone would agree, echoing the same sentiment. However, much to our delight the comments kept streaming in and by mid day on Tuesday we had a wonderfully diverse discussion taking place within the post. These Monday questions can be hit or miss, sometimes ya’ll go crazy and it seems like everyone we know adds their thoughts, others we can tell we missed the mark when only a handful of answers come in. This week’s question certainly encouraged us. If you missed it, check it out on socials!
On Tuesday our fearless leader, Coy took off on a trip up to Toledo, Ohio for an overnight.

What initially began when the folks at Coal Ironworks saw our blanchard maintenance video last week and asked for some advice quickly turned into a trip north to both assist in the blanchard issues, join for a day around Coal Ironworks HQ and even drop in to see our friends at Yoder Machinery where they just might have a new machine the boss has been searching for. After what was surely a great time with some close friends in the industry, Coy returned to HQ to close out the week with us. If you missed his trip, check out socials for a little recap of the fun!
You may notice a subtle change in the

weekend’s “Live Drop” email that goes out to everyone at 8pm EST on Saturday each week. Now with three options for etchants, we’ve added a new section to the drop email that will suggest the PERFECT etchant for each week’s specific layout. It’s just another way we want to support your work and assist in making every experience with both our material and etchants as good as it can be. Check out this week’s recommendation on Saturday’s email to see what etchant(s) work best with the CopperMai Dam-Core!

Inside the Media
A quieter week in contrast to weeks prior, Waylon and I had a little more chance to elevate our normal work. I worked on some deeper aspects of the growing Gator Piss website while Waylon got creative, taking one of the more unique rounds of “week recap” photos from around HQ in black and white. While my web projects rarely wrap up in a mere week, Waylon’s work shines through both on socials, and in this email. There is always creativity to be found and we love that we’ve built a team that so easily combines creativity with quality work.
In other news, not one but THREE entirely new t-shirt designs and dozens of different bumper stickers were all purchased to start the week. All promotions for our booth at the upcoming Blade Show in Atlanta (booth #1149), you won’t want to miss these. As we have grown in confidence hosting this booth, we are more and more excited to bring lots of new and fun things to the table! If you plan on attending the show, stop by, grab some swag and say “hey!”

Sneak Peek 👀
This weekend, we’re proud to bring back CopperMai Dam-Core, a classic layout that’s been at the heart of Baker Forge since the beginning, now available in the beloved Raindrop pattern and, for the first time ever, our innovative Surge pattern. With its vibrant copper lamination layered over a high-quality damascus core, this steel offers both breathtaking visuals and enduring strength, making it a standout for any maker. Our Baker App early access on Friday has been selling out significant portions of recent drops by Saturday evening, so if you want the best selection, jump on the app a day early or catch the full release Saturday at 8pm EST.
