Ah, the cat is out of the bag. After several weeks of tireless preparation we finally announced the release of two brand new Gator Piss formulas on Wednesday. It was quite the marathon from product labels to promotional shoots but with everything on track and media ready to roll out we chose TODAY as the official launch of pre-orders. New products like this come with a fair share of challenges, whether in the initial stages where ideas become physical solutions or the late stages where your bold claims become the backbone of the product’s value. We have stepped through the entire journey with these two new additions and we could not be more confident or excited to get them to ALL our friends.
When we first began the Gator Piss line with etch-spert and well-known Knife Maker, Greyson Weltyk years back we knew this easy-to-use pre-mixed solution would change the industry standard for etchants, providing easy, consistent results EVERY time. With distribution to nearly all corners of the world, the next stages in Gator Piss development became extremely clear. To bring the same ease-of-use and simplicity to the stainless damascus community, and to take a step further on the original formula to provide the perfect recipe for deeper and darker etches on carbon steels. Trial and error shortly ensued but we pushed forth, refining a perfect formula for these two new breakout areas. Safe to say that Gator Piss MAX and Gator Piss Heavy have been through the fire, having been tested by some of the most trusted Maker’s in the community, which means you can pre-order confidently, knowing the ease of our original Gator Piss formula will continue with these new products. Stay tuned in less than 2 hours when pre-orders begin on the website!
…And if you’re getting an itch for more info, check out our Introduction video on YouTube where Boss-Man, Coy and Gator Piss Co-Creator, Greyson discuss all the nitty-gritty on these two pivotal products. You can find it here!

Our manufacturing staff faced a different production week with Blacksmith, Will and Blanchard Op, Sloan BOTH out on vacation at the very same time. Although Sloan will return to his station in the coming week, Jay and the staff are prepared to lose Will till the week following. A long-time member of our Baker family, few have earned this time off like Will and regardless of the HQ change-up, we hope he enjoys the rest! In his stead the staff will do what they always do, kick it into high gear and keep pumping out bars to satisfy the masses!
In other fun news, CFO Bruce Baker got his first full rundown on operating our forklift. Traditionally in shipping and office roles, Bruce never saw a reason to get a training sesh on one of our most valuable assets around the HQ until last week when an unexpected shipment landed outside. The staff had already taken off for the week and Bruce had to improvise. Needless to say, it was top-priority to get him trained and comfortable on the machine, if nothing else than to be ready for the next time he’s got to help out!

Inside the Media
Each Monday morning Waylon and I begin our work week with the same simple question; What is our ‘community question’ to start the week off? Some weeks these questions spur an onslaught of excited commenters, other weeks we get 10 total comments.
This week we asked ya’ll what piece of advice you would give someone JUST getting their knife-making journey started and you came through big time. The wealth of comedic takes and sarcastic responses once again reminded us that sometimes the content of the comment tells us more about the commenter than the message. So many tired and dejected Maker’s slyly commenting “Don’t.” or “Drugs are cheaper.”
Knife-Making is no easy path to make a buck in life, and we knew there would be a heavy dose of sarcasm with a lay-up of a question like that, but with a mix of legitimately killer advice and the hilariously witty melancholy of some hard-working shop-types, I don’t know if we could have crafted a better example of the field than our question reel this week! If you missed the video, check it out across socials.
After a three-week blitz following our product shoot last month Waylon is finally wrapping up the Gator Piss product release content. Tutorials, introduction videos and promotional content all had to be finished up and ready to roll out prior to the initial release of the new products. With everyone down our necks to get this shit wrapped, Waylon kicked it into high-gear while I took the lead on most of the day-to-day content. The blitz still isn’t over with Blade Show Atlanta just around the corner, but like many challenges it sure brought our little department closer to share these responsibilities! As you watch the exciting Gator Piss media rollout, don’t forget to consider all of the hours involved. From production to filming, on-screen talent to long editing hours. None of this comes easy but it’s worth it to be the BEST!
