Professors JB & Greyson and The Gator Piss Family Grows! TFN

Last week was a challenge for our fearless leader, Coy as he overcame one of the more viscous flu cases to enter the Baker household. Back at work and feeling fresh, however, things have returned to their productive usuals to start the week. Shop Lead, Jay reported a highly productive week as the manufacturing team knocked out a HUGE batch for the weekend drop as well as further building inventory for the spring/summer season. There is so much innovation in store from this side of our business in 2025 and we couldn’t feel more blessed to have constructed a model team on our production.

Earlier in the week we finally sat down with the folks at Norton where we were able to refine our grinding stone needs to exactly the composition best suited for our application. Not only does this mean a drastically easier grinding experience for our in-house operator, Sloan, but also sped the process up in ways we couldn’t have DREAMED. Now Sloan is processing finish grinds in record time with ease. Freeing him up to pitch-in in other areas of production and overall increasing the output of our team. It’s a great feeling to finally have a machine operating at its optimum capacity, but more than that, we’re thrilled to see Sloan assisting in some other key areas!

The momentum continues to build as we work toward the (very) close release of not one but TWO new additions to our Gator Piss family of etchants. When we first dropped Gator Piss (original formula) our goal was to simplify an otherwise challenging process with an easy-to-use pre-mixed solution that could provide customers with a perfect etch every time. With a sense of accomplishment and a booming new addition to the space, our innovators with Gator Piss wanted to take it a step further, providing options for both stainless damascus, and deeper and darker etches on carbon steels. Over the last few weeks we have been finalizing media and tutorials, collecting product images and running final tests and it has been a serious whirlwind! Without giving too much more away, I’ll leave you with this; stay tuned next week as the rollout of sneak-peeks into these new products begins. And by all means get that wallet ready, you NEVER know when you might see Coy’s bearded face announcing another surprise drop…

Earlier in the week we announced our Blade University class in partnership with Blade Show,

Gator Piss, as well as renowned Makers, Greyson of Grey Blades and Jordon of JB Blades. In the class students will receive a live etch demonstration in both our original formula Gator Piss AND our two brand new formulas, MAX and Heavy. In addition, the duo will take questions, provide tips & tricks, and walk you through everything you need to know to get a PERFECT etch every time. All the details are available on the BladeShow website and classes can be purchased with tickets to the show or added on later. Don’t miss your chance to get the full Gator Piss rundown live and in person with two of the best “etchsperts” in the business! Find more information here

Inside the Media

With Blade Show Atlanta just around the corner and basically no time to spare, Waylon and I began tossing around sticker and t-shirt concepts this past week. One of our favorite aspects of hosting our first Baker booth at Blade Show last year was bringing a bunch of cool new designs for our friends and customers to enjoy. Although extremely de-prioritized, especially in the thick of a video editing binge, Waylon has been experimenting with a few designs in his downtime and we’re as thrilled as ever to debut some fun new promotional swag for the show! If you make it out to Atlanta in June, pop by our booth (#1149) and see what we cooked up.
