Sam Nearly Lost a Finger & What to Look Forward to at Blade Show TX! TFN

Spring demand for materials has certainly hit a relative high this week. Jay had the manufacturing team firing on all cylinders ahead of this weekend’s Blade Show: Texas. There’s nothing quite like wrapping up a long list of custom orders before taking off for a weekend of fun with all our favorite folks. The early-week called for a team Gator Piss restock, combining our proprietary formulas to craft three more 100-gallon reserves for domestic sales. It’s an “all-hands-on-deck” type of project but a great excuse to all hang out and move something forward as a team. Lot’s of jokes, banter and tunes keep the otherwise monotonous task a bit more fun & refreshing! If you've been thinking about re-upping your stock or simply trying a new formula– now is a great time! Check out what’s available here

Some of you may have caught our Customer Support and longtime shop-hand Sam showing off a finger injury in Tuesday’s action shots from Baker HQ. Like ya’ll, our staff is familiar with a minor cut or burn, but when mentioned to me for this week’s newsletter Waylon made a point of expressing just how close Sam was to typing support emails with 9 digits. A CLASSIC belt-grinder fail that once again almost took a limb off. Alas, “close” only matters in horse shoes and hand grenades and we’re glad Sam still has a ring finger…

Last week I dropped that Coy and another team-member or two would be walking around the Fort Worth Convention Center this weekend for Blade Show– I intentionally kept the mentioning vague because Jay had yet to receive his “Real-ID” for domestic travel and the window looked to be rapidly closing. Fortunately his documents arrived just in time to snag the weekend flight down. We’re stoked to have arguably our best representation at the big weekend to support our Makers and build the hype for one of our favorite shows! It’s mentioned in this week’s “Sneak Peek” section but I’ll remind you here as well– If you’re at Blade Show Texas this weekend, look out for Coy & Jay. If prompted we sent the two guys with a little “bonus” promotion for folks at the show. Rest assured, although we couldn't exhibit at this show, we are committed to doing everything we can to add to the party and keep the hype up!

Speaking of Blade Show hype: Busy ahead of the flight down, I asked Coy to spout off a few

folks he’s stoked to see this weekend. “There’s too many amazing Maker’s to mention,” he replied before eventually dropping a few highlights: long-time test-knife maker and industry pillar, Jordan of JB Blades will be exhibiting with home-field advantage, good friend Charlie of Broken Anvil Knifeworks will have some work on display and folder-aficionado Jake McCoy will apparently host a handful of MAGNIFICENT blades in our Baker Stainless Damascus! Although the Baker boys are likely to make their rounds, safe to say they’ll be by these three booths several times through the course of the weekend! If you are exhibiting this weekend AND will have product in our materials be sure to shoot us a DM with your table number and we’ll do our best to drop by!

Inside the Media

The administrative pursuit of efficiency in 2026 at Baker Forge has reached our media operation. Refining processes throughout production, shipping, and fulfillment our CEO Coy and CFO Bruce have created a leaner, stronger version of our business prepared to withstand the highest highs and lowest lows. Providing our materials at their most refined economic price to-date. It’s only right that this mandate makes its way through our media production like it has the rest of Baker Forge. From recycling of past footage to simplifying rollouts, Waylon and I are finding ways to get more efficient, save more money for the company and its customers, all while continuing to supply you with the quality of entertainment, promotion and content that we’ve come to be known for! We’re confident that like all other aspects of our business we can find ways to continue to uphold a strict standard while operating LEAN! It worked with the Core Line, why not the media?

Waylon is wrapping up a few new designs for t-shirts and stickers that we’re really stoked to debut for ya’ll soon. With a goal of a new design at Blade Show Atlanta in June each year, this creative period has become one of our favorite times of year. This year’s newest design is going to be BALLER and I can’t wait for you to see what Waylon cooked up!

I mentioned it briefly in the past but following the gathering in Texas this weekend, friend of the biz, Sharky from Flying Shark Knife Supplies will be hanging around Baker HQ. In town for some business Sharky couldn’t resist an opportunity to throw the ill-fitting gator costume on one last time for some goofy collaborative content. Truly a gifted Maker and somehow an equally hilarious personality, we CANNOT WAIT to see what kind of funny & entertaining content we can get out of two shop days with this guy. Stay tuned!
