Sharky in the Water, Bulgarian Ram Returns & GAW Winner! TFN

Happy Friday Makers!

It was a slightly unusual week for our marketing as we opted to push the drop schedule one week in an effort to afford the manufacturing team some “catch-up” time. Since we dropped the Core Line last month ya’ll have had us swamped with orders. Since this new offering was designed to present some of our classic layouts with consistency, Jay and the shop guys have had their hands full producing plenty of the five Core Line options while also handling the uptick in spring custom orders ahead of the summer show-season. Production capacity is a good problem, so we certainly aren't complaining about the rush, but to take advantage of the week’s promotions & return to our 2026 marketing goal to “Support Makers Even More” we chose to offer another FREE billet Give-Away!

More on the winner of this week’s GAW below….

Jay and the guys added another big batch of end-cut boxes to the site randomly on

Wednesday. These bits and pieces off our production are a massive hit in the community with folks trying their hand at transforming the byproducts into artistic and creative pieces. Almost always selling out in minutes I’ve given up trying to notify you in time, so this is another reminder to sign up for “Push Notifications” on the Baker Forge app to get an immediate “BING” the second these go live. Remember– we offer Damascus, Copper Damascus AND Stainless Steel end-cut boxes as well as a handful of “stick” bundles from time to time. With Blade Show Texas only weeks away, we’re planning some fun surrounding the gathering. Although we don’t exhibit at either Blade Show TX or West, this show serves as a great chance for founder Coy Baker and his wife (occasionally accompanied also by Jay Baker) to hang out with our industry buddies and enjoy the knife making community.

Following the fun weekend, long-time friend of the business, Sharky of Flying Shark Supplies will be heading back to Boone with us. In the area for other business Sharky has been a collaborator and supporter of our products for some time and we’re excited to have him around the HQ for a solid day or two. During that time we plan to film a bunch of fun content, returning to a few past concepts, and utilizing Sharky’s exuberant personality for a few entertaining updates! Stay tuned in the week’s following Blade TX for the familiar face!

On the topic of Blade Show– our booth at Atlanta will have a new look this year as we ordered a brand new MASSIVE 20 foot banner to erect as a backdrop. With more space at this year's show, we’re planning all sorts of activities, promotions, and events throughout the weekend. If there is one show NOT to miss this year– it’s Blade Show Atlanta.

Toward the end of the week we received the ram for our Bulgarian 350 power-hammer back from a regional CNC shop equipped to handle a pretty major job. Cracked when we originally purchased the hammer, we had to cut the entire dovetail section off the ram and have an entirely new one made and mounted to it. A pretty difficult undertaking from removal to repair, we now have to simply get the ram re-installed and this hammer is back-in-action. Seems like most fixes are hard fixes, but doing it the right way the first time always saves time and inspires confidence. We’re stoked to have this hammer back in the rotation and ready to smash steel for YEARS into the future.

Inside the Media

Last week’s hour-long shop tour video release was a weight off our media team's backs. Longform content is a HUGE focus for us in 2026, but DAMN if it doesn’t take some time to produce a quality, long video. Thankfully the release went great and folks seem to be enjoying the deep dive into our HQ and production lines. If you missed the video, check it out here!

We opened the week with a challenge from Coy & Jay; give the production guys a break this week and let’s promote something that keeps them hustling on Core Line & custom orders. Thankfully a big ol’ bar of one of our all-time best sellers to do whatever we please with was included in the arrangement. We jumped at the chance to return to our 2026 goal of supporting Make’s further and tossed up a quick GAW on Wednesday mid-morning.

In the coming weeks Waylon and I will be focusing on our next big longform video as well as t-shirt and sticker designs for Blade Show in June!

FireStorm

Give-Away Winner

On Wednesday we launched another surprise give-away as part of our 2026 goal to support Makers even more! To be entered to win a HUGE bar of our classic FireStorm layout we asked viewers to “follow” our @BakerForge & @Gator.Piss Instagram accounts as well as tagging three or more friends in the comments. More than 200 folks flocked to enter and we are thrilled to announce that by a random drawing, Brian Tucker of Tucker Custom Knives has won!

Congrats Brian on your win & thanks to all those that participated!
