Happy Friday, Makers!

What turned out to be one of those head-down hustle weeks at Baker HQ went relatively smoothly and without much drama. Early in the week, Jay and the team hit the weekend drop manufacturing hard, turning out a never-before-seen layout that we’re stoked to share. With extra ease in development came the space to produce a fairly large batch, meaning you’ll have plenty of size options to choose from.

Contrary to a very drama-free week for our production staff, Coy received some bad news as we continue development of our Stainless production line. A quick budgetary blow came when our power company informed us that the transformers and lines to our building must be upgraded to support a 480v 3-phase panel. A $30,000 lump in the throat, but we knew building this new line wouldn’t be easy, and we’re not quitting. Stainless for the PEOPLE! Stay tuned as we make final upgrades to our HQ in anticipation of this new development.

With this weekend’s drop already forged and ready to head out to customers, Jay and the production staff jumped on another huge task: cutting a portion of the dividing wall in our shop to accommodate a HUGE telehandler that will stand up our new power hammer next week. A hopeful final step in the hammer-saga we’ve had going for months, making space for this telehandler wasn’t our first idea, but when the local tow truck team saw that massive hammer, they knew they needed more power to get it done. Alas, these are the hoops we jump through when working with such insane and powerful machines. We just can’t wait to see that bad boy standing upright!

Inside the Media

Waylon and I got off to a HOT start on the week, shooting three of our first four days of the week’s media on Monday. This provided Waylon with a little extra time to work on some exciting content surrounding the weekend drop. Unfortunately, we experienced a major delay when our test blade was held up in shipping. Normally, we would receive, photograph, color correct, and video the test blade for a new layout on Tuesday, ensuring all drop content is prepared and scheduled several days in advance. This week, we were stuck till Thursday morning, making good use of the extra time filming lots of entertaining content for the coming days but unable to prepare the weekend’s drop graphics, product images, and drop announcement videos until around noon yesterday. Fortunately, we have a highly skilled media guy in Waylon, and by 2 p.m., we had photographed, edited, filmed, and scheduled everything.

An unexpected side effect of the schedule disruption was a dynamic piece of media Waylon began working on with Jay as they twisted their first bar for this weekend’s new layout. Always a hit on socials, we anticipated this twist production and made sure to get all the juicy shots for y’all. The results were one of our coolest shots of this behind-the-scenes process. BUT it needed that final test blade shot of the pattern to really send you to the moon. Just when we thought all hope was lost and we might have to throw up the reel as Thursday content without the final reveal shot, the test blade showed up at our door. With a sigh of relief and plenty of anticipation for how it’s received, we invite you to check out the video on socials today for a little teaser of this INSANE new Tiger Twist.

Sneak Peek 👀

This weekend, we’re rolling out Tiger Twist, a never-before-seen triple-alloy Damascus that Coy’s hyped to introduce. Crafted from 1084, 80CRV2, and 15N20, this layout delivers a striking tri-color effect—dark steel, medium grey, and bright highlights—woven into an extra-tight twist pattern that redefines bold. With a hefty batch offering a wide range of sizes, it’s perfect for any project. Plus, check our Friday noon video for a behind-the-scenes look at our twist process and a reveal of the test blade’s stunning pattern. With app drops selling fast lately, hit the Baker Forge App Friday at noon EST for first pick, or join the full release Saturday at 8pm EST.
