A HUGE Addition to Baker HQ and Saturday Just Isn’t the Same! TFN

Another week has flown by, but not without its highlights and successes!

We tackled this week’s tasks a bit differently than normal, with our one week off of the year approaching, a strategy for production leading up to the break was essential. Thanks to a strong team, and a more than capable Shop Manager, Jay, we are well on track!

Early in the week, contractors visited the HQ to begin the construction of an interior addition; an independent dedicated shipping room. With its own entrance, and passthrough door to the office AND shop floor, this layout was designed for optimum efficiency in mind. The update was much needed, and we expect it to level-up our production line in a BIG way! With walls already up and insulated, we expect to have the wiring in and drywall installed by the end of next week and can’t wait to show off the new space to ya’ll on socials!

The new shipping area wasn’t the only addition to the shop this week, however. A THIRD

Blanchard Grinder surprisingly showed up on Tuesday. The machine, a facebook marketplace find by our fearless leader, was listed as a “part-out”. But to our surprise, it appeared in near perfect condition. The previous owner was a local gentleman who had purchased it, running, only a few years back but never took the time to get it wired into his shop. After we offered him a simple trade for an unused vertical milling machine that had been taking up place in the new HQ he happily agreed! We aren’t sure if this grinder will take up permanent residence as a fixture in the lineup or perhaps rest as a parts backup for the other two Blanchards, but we are thankful for the cheap addition to our shop!

With a primary half of our media team taking two days in the midweek to enjoy some hits from Green Day and Smashing Pumpkins in Atlanta, we tasked the rest of the team with a small website reboot. The result was a renewed page on our History as a company, a wholesale page to better outline our offerings for larger manufacturers, and a “Meet the Team” page that really introduces you to the staff that make this whole thing possible. We were pleased with how it turned out and look forward to hearing feedback on the additions!

This week’s schedule was a little “off” without a planned drop. We knew you would miss that Thursday announcement providing context to the steel we would be offering over the weekend. So in place of the classic video, we offered an “Ask Me Anything” with the Boss himself. Days in advance we asked YOU to shoot us your best questions, and although we expected a bit more of a “hot seat” selection, we were able to throw together a little video answering a few key questions. You can check it out on socials now!

👀 Sneak Peek 👀

In our store, there's quite a stir,

This weekend, there's no drop, for sure.

No new gadgets, no new gear,

Just a poem, to bring you cheer.

We searched high, we searched low,

For items that would make you go,

"Wow, I need that, it's so neat!"

But this week, we've got nothing, ain't that sweet?

No rush, no hustle, no need to buy,

Take a break, give your wallet a sigh.

Enjoy your weekend, take it slow,

Maybe next week, we'll have a show.

So sit back, relax, and maybe snooze,

We'll be back with drops that you can't refuse.

For now, just laugh, and don't be sore,

This week, our drop is this poem, nothing more!

"If you can fill the unforgiving minute

With sixty seconds worth of distance run,

Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,

And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!"

-Rudyard Kipling
