First Stainless Batch, Double-Drop Week, & Waylon CRUSHES It! TFN

Happy October, Makers!

This summer really has flown by for us. Seems like just yesterday we were welcoming back the warm temps after a long Appalachian winter and yet here we are once again!

Closing out last week’s insane progress thanks to a much-needed visit from Chris Cash left us well ahead to start the work week. Jay and the production crew jumped on a variety of custom orders as our retail drop was finished ahead of schedule. With the new Chambersburg power hammer finally operational in production, Head Blacksmith Will has been cranking stainless damascus for more than half the week!

With production ahead of schedule we took the opportunity to run a big batch of Gator Skin

Nano-Ceramic Coating to build back our stock. If you had checked in prior to the restock, numbers were dwindling. If you haven’t yet, do yourself a favor and snag a bottle while supplies last!

Some time over the weekend Coy let Waylon and I know that this week was our target for the release of Grime Reaper– a product that we had been working on for some time now. One of the most exciting parts of working for Baker, these new product releases are a BLAST! But also for us to toss all our planned media to the side. That being said, this relevant and exciting media is a lot more fun to produce and publish anyway! Following our Tuesday release, customers jumped all over the new product. Perhaps another hit from the team behind our entire Gator Piss line!

With the week comfortably under control, Coy took the chance to step in once again and co-host the Triple-T Podcast with Host Denis Tyrell out on vacation. Before Coy could even request a story graphic for the promotion, an end cut restock on Wednesday morning sold out. Now lasting an average of mere minutes, our end cut and stick bundles have become a huge hit for customers. Often containing bits and pieces large enough to work within a WIDE variety of our classic layouts, you can sign up to be notified when these drop. With the Chambersburg saga finally coming to a close I am PLEASED to announce that stainless damascus production is finally under way. With the production line all but completed, not only can Jay and the guys dish out a stainless drop  soon, they can do it in immense volume. With the boss's approval I can happily report the near-completion of a full batch with even MORE on the way. In Coy’s words… “Drop on the way!” You heard it here first, folks!

Inside the Media

In what was likely the busiest week of work for Waylon in quite some time, our young media manager absolutely blew it out of the park. Opening the week with an extremely time-sensative (and large) studio project to shoot for Baker Studios and then moving directly into final Grime Reaper B-Roll and product images, Waylon really didn’t catch his breath all week. Typically when we drop a new product Coy will have us hold the week’s steel drop, but this week the whole staff felt like building on the momentum of the Grime Reaper release with ANOTHER brand new steel layout. Unfortunately for Waylon, this meant wrapping the Grime Reaper & studio work to immediately turn over into the typical drop-related media. Alas, like always the buck came through and everything was well on track by Thursday’s drop announcement reel with Coy.

With Waylon wrapped up in media for the week I turned my attention toward some planning. For most Makers we may already be too late to place a holiday custom order. But as a reward for a hard-fought holiday season, we always work to provide a nice set of promotions & discounts in the Black Friday season. I won’t tease a damn thing other than this– like past years, Coy is certainly blessing the community with another round of fantastic deals and I’m already getting things set up for this exciting time of year!
