Wrapping up what felt like the first official week of autumn our staff has been pretty damn happy with the cooler mountain temps blowing across the Appalachias. Nothing like hoodies and bay doors to keep a smile on a blacksmith’s face!

Aside from the normal head-down crush-it type of custom work jay and the production staff face each and every week we had a pretty average week around Baker HQ. It’s rare a few days of the week aren’t held hostage by an unforeseen machine issue or breakdown, on weeks like these we simply praise the good Lord, everything's operating smoothly and use the spare time to address some of the HUGE things coming down the pipe over the next few weeks.

As part of the preparations for our Stainless Damascus line, we brought on a new employee– Brandon. In addition to his current work in forge prep and welding, Brandon is working alongside our Head Blacksmith, Will to build his forging experience and will soon play a vital role in the large-scale production of stainless. Already Brandon is fitting in incredibly with our staff of hard-working rednecks and we once again feel pretty damn blessed to score another great team member.

In the midst of a quieter week and following a Labor Day Blowout that had our website working overtime we took the chance to make a few subtle changes to the website layout. With the addition of our newest product in the Gator Piss line: Grime Reaper, we’ve refined the menu options on the site to assist you in easily accessing the entire Gator Piss line. Check out BakerForge.com to see the changes and get your first preview of our upcoming product Grime Reaper releasing SOON.

Additionally we made a small change to our Heat Treat Services. In the past we have tried our best to provide heat  treatment services on site for our direct customers. In an effort to better assist our customers with expert-level heat treatment, we’ve partnered with Pristine Heat Treat out of Texas. This new company was co-founded by long-time friend-of-the-business and Test Blade Maker, Jordan Berthelot and our founder, Coy Baker.

With unmatched combined knowledge of our materials and the heat treatment process, we can confidently recommend Pristine for ALL of your heat treatment needs. Find them directly here, or check out our new page featuring their service here.

Inside the Media

With the addition of Brandon and the return of Sam we went ahead and overhauled the Meet the Team section of our website with updated pictures of the entire staff. Waylon somehow even caught shop lead Jay on camera with a clean face for the first time ever. Ever wondered who (specifically) is behind your Baker Forge purchase? Check out our updated employee page here! In an effort to award me some time off for my upcoming wedding this weekend, Waylon and I have been hustling to get all our media and drop-related posts planned out and scheduled prior to the second half of the week. Since there’s not much more to say about the marketing guy finally getting hitched I’ll say this instead– I couldn't be more thankful for this inspiring group of men around Baker, and for Waylon and his recent efforts to work overtime getting things in order for my long weekend off. Baker is truly a special kind of work-family! See ya’ll here next week.
