The first week of August is DONE and it couldn’t have been better! A little cold-front passed through the Appalachians this week, giving the office A/C unit a break and putting all our forge guys in a great mood. There’s just nothing like that cool mountain air blowing through the bay doors in the middle of a hot forging session. If last week’s new furnace arrival was like Christmas morning, walking into the HQ on Monday was sort of like the day after Christmas - all the new toys begging to be played with. So we kicked off the week filming a little rundown on the innovative new production furnace. Although these technical machine videos often seem a little dry from face value ya’ll once again reminded us how much you love talking about the nitty gritty. Coy’s short reel showcasing only the main features of the furnace made its rounds, and its reception by the community stoked us up even further. Stay tuned for an even MORE detailed video on YouTube in the coming weeks. We haven’t even scratched the surface of all the cool things Blacksmith Jorgan Harle threw into this groundbreaking piece of equipment.

Now with our furnace in place and the Chambersburg power hammer closer-than-ever to
action. The stainless production line Coy has been refining for over a year now is almost complete. So, for all of you incessantly messaging me “When is stainless coming???” I promise it’s coming soon…
In a few hours we’re posting up a little update on the Chamberburg on socials. The move-in/install process with this hammer has been a little bit of a nightmare, I won’t lie to you. But with the worst challenges behind us, it was time to provide a little update and chronicle some of the bumps along the way. Stay tuned to socials for a rare Saturday reel featuring the Boss-Man hand painting the entire beast!

This week, we worked on a meaningful project for the Nashville Bomb Squad. They envisioned transforming leaf springs from the wreckage of the 2020 Christmas Day RV bombing in Nashville into flat ground billet stock for knives to honor the first responders. We prepared the steel and passed it along to skilled hands to craft the final knives.

Inside the Media
It was a pretty run-of-the-mill week for Waylon and I. With a CLASSIC layout lined up for the weekend drop, no test blade was necessary. Freeing up Waylon to spend extra time editing together a few new longform YouTube videos while the rest of the week’s social media content flowed in naturally. Our Monday question was a moderate hit, drawing in 40+ responses when we asked “What turns a sh*tty day around?”. Answers varied from, “My Family.” to “Emptying an entire 12 round clip in 2 seconds.” …About on par for this community, haha! Although we normally post a BTS photo set on Saturday’s, a little bonus timelapse is coming your way that features Coy & Waylon laying a thick coat of paint on the Chambersburg. That pushed our photos to Sunday and means that for the first time in a bit, followers are getting 7 straight days of Baker Forge media. Tired of us yet?

Sneak Peek 👀
This weekend, we’re bringing back a true Baker legend: RipTide - Ripple, the original layout that sparked an entire series, unseen since February. Featuring 100-layer Damascus cladding and core, accented by copper shims and a 1084 layer, this drop delivers the vibrant Ripple pattern our engaged fans adore, with a large batch offering unique sizes for every project. Coy’s pumped to see this classic return, and with recent drops flying off the Baker Forge App, you’ll want to jump in TODAY at noon EST for the best selection or catch the full release Saturday at 8pm EST.
