Sh*tty Weather, Piss Restock, ANOTHER New Hypnotic Layout! TFN

It was a unique week around Baker HQ. It’s almost like Halloween impacted the weather as a wealth of rain and cool temps rushed across our Appalachian community. The bitter temps didn’t slow us down a bit though. The manufacturing team has found a new gear since the Chambersburg was added to the production line. Well-tuned into their individual roles and stations, Jay has refined all sorts of aspects of production in anticipation of this busier season and we couldn’t be more impressed with their output. Both custom orders and advance production for the retail drop schedule are in development as we speak!

dreamed. Nearly sold out before dropping to the website on Saturday, the closest customers of Baker utilized the Baker App to snag up every bar Jay and the guys could cook up. A very encouraging start to the stainless era for Baker Forge! If your goal was to inspire the Boss-Man to add more stainless to the upcoming retail drop schedule MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! Although we won’t get specific, rest assured that COy’s got ANOTHER exciting stainless drop coming down the pipe soon.

With the manufacturing staff hard at work, Jay pulled away a bit this week to further tune the patterning programs on our newer press. Shortly after we began involving the press in our patterning processes, it became evident that some dialing-in was still necessary. In what has wound up a more meticulous task than we imagined, some small progress was made but there is still a way to go with the volume of patterns we regularly visit. Shoot some good vibes Jay’s way as he works to get those patterns JUST right.

Preparing for next week’s accomplishments, Coy put in an order for all the supplies for a BIG Gator Piss restock next week. Although you might imagine we simply send a pre-packaged jug of Piss from shop storage when you buy online, we actually mix the formulas by hand ourselves. This means every couple weeks nearly all of the Baker staff collect in the gator Piss bay for a big mixing party. Combining all the necessary ingredients (Gator somehow not involved), mix, fill, label, and package a BUNCH of bottles. Although a bit of a begrudging task, it has become an excellent time in our busy business to get literally EVERYONE together on one accomplishment. From Waylon to Bruce, Jay to Cole– the entire Baker staff lend a hand to Gator Piss! Stay tuned for a fresh restock next week…

On a smaller note: This week we joined the business ranks of LinkedIn. Not the most knife-

maker friendly social media option, we hadn’t seen much reason to adapt media to yet another platform but with background business connections always to be made, we figured it was as good a time as ever. With an astounding 9 followers joining us there, this is perhaps the only time I’ll suggest it but here goes; If you’re on LinkedIn, follow us here!

Inside the Media

This week’s Halloween holiday provided Waylon and I with a theme for our media all week. And in a world where new, creative and entertaining media has to go out six days a week all year, a theme is a welcomed reprieve from the normal. We took advantage, asking “What’s the BEST Halloween Movie?” as our Monday Question and following up with several other comedic and spooky concepts throughout the rest of the week. Tomorrow’s photo set is one of Waylon’s best and we are so stoked for ya’ll to see it.

With the new Chambersburg in full operation, head Blacksmith Will has been working with it most of the time. When Waylon ran out onto the shop floor earlier this week to snag some clips for today’s Forge Reel, he noticed a major change between this hammer and the last– the Chamberburg OBLIDERATES steel so quickly he can barely get a sustained shot of Will! It may sound audacious but seriously, this thing blows through material so quick in a few short strikes bars are headed back into the forge and the sequence is over. All that to say, our Forge Reels may be a bit shorter now, but DAMN does that metal move.
